My Hungary

Dear visitors!

Here I would like to tell you my experiences around my two houses. I believe, in this way you can also get an impression about
Hungary and their people.

Part 1:

My family lives in different parts of Hungary. A special one, my aunt, lived in Kunágota.
Short after the dead of her husband she has became ill. Unfortunately, no one else of our family lived in this part of Hungary,
so I decided to move to Kunágota.

The House stands in the outskirts of Kunágota, in the county Békés Megye, has a nice garden and a vegetable field behind.
There have been a dog, few chickens, ducks and two gooses. I took care after the animals and the house.

Close to Kunágota is the town Gyula, with one of the most famous Thermal Baths of Hungary.
As often as possible, I and my aunt visited Gyula and enjoyed the bath.
Once we had a special experience. After we returned from the bath, we recognized that we did not lock our house.
But nothing happened, fortunately the people of Kunágota and the area are very honest people.
Burglary and thefts are absolute rare events.

Though, the Romanian border is close, mostly Hungarians are living in this area and everybody knows each other.
Also, there is the EU-Schengen border and therefore security is high, maybe another reason why this is one of the most calm
and secure areas of Hungary.

Within a 20 miles range there are many villages and there is always a market somewhere. There you can buy food, clothes,
animals and other useful stuff. Market days are always special and we had a lot of fun there.

Also the county's capital Békéscsaba lies just 20 miles away. Beside there is a Theater and two Museums.

In Kunágota itself you get everything necessary. There is Building Store, Food Store's, Pharmacy, Doctor's, Church, Library,
Primary School, Nursery School, Senior Club and various small shops, everything you need for life.
Every August there is a Festival in the village.

A short while after the death of my aunt, about 10 years ago, I moved back to my previous region of Hungary.
Now this house is for sale and I will never miss the time I have had there.

Part 2:

Maybe the best time of my life I had in this House, inside a Natural Park, near Izsák. This is one of the most beautiful regions of Hungary,
the Bács-Kiskun Megye county, also known as Hungarian Plain. It is the agricultural heart of Hungary.

On this place I had wonderful years, enjoyed the natures freedom, surrounded by forests where does, rabbits, pheasants,
wild boars, foxes and many bird species are living.
This property lies on a real special place of Hungary and should be a paradise for nature loving people.
I had plenty of space to set a big fruit and vegetables garden. The ground is made of pure sand and it was possible for me,
to plant melons, 15 lb big.
Beside I could realize my love to animals, having poultry, a few gouts and pigs. My biggest proud have been my Doberman breed.

Nearly every weekend my family and friends visited me there. Around the gardens Swimming Pool we enjoyed funny grill parties
until late night. Often we have been fishing too, catching pikes, perches and all kind of white fish.
Sometimes we took the horse-drawn and made a tour through the many villages nearby.
Nearly everywhere, you can find a Hungarian Csárda (restaurant), where you can enjoy traditional Hungarian food
and listening to Gypsy music. These are impressions you will never forget.

The countys capital Kecskemét is within 20 miles reach. Beside many sights, Kecskemét also offers a wide range of cultural programs.
